One of my favorite aspects of animation is the background. It is the hot dog bun of the animation picnic - the main course is not quite edible without it.What I love about Cardcaptor Sakura is that, despite the fact that production ended in 2001, there is a wide variety of artwork out there. Many of these layouts, in my opinion, feature much more detailed artwork than that which appeared in the final cut. My only complaint, though, is that the animators were quite liberal in the amount of tape placed on each background and layout. Copious amounts of tape on each sheet mean tedious hours of painstakingly difficult removal.
