Sailor Moon - Test Cels
 Home/Change Series
Test Cels, or cels that were designed to show how a character would appear on acetate prior to a show's production, were a nice feature used for many anime series prior to the advent of CG animation.
These three cels were part of a five cel lot being auctioned in August 2006. Several more 'well-known' Japanese bidders came out of the works to obtain these cels, and sadly, I was only able to come out with 3 of the 5 that were up for grabs.
These cels do not have any numerical ID, however, they all feature the flaky and discoloring ink that Toei studios used for producing cels from the 'Sailormoon' series. These test cels, in particular, were used to showcase how each of the main characters would look prior to the production of the second 'Sailormoon' opening theme.
