Matsumoto was a special guest at SakuraCon 2016.

SakuraCon 2016 was a very lackluster convention. Its guest list that was furnished by its corporate sponsors like Aniplex demonstrate how far a convention can really go downhill once it fully embraces corporate influence. Sponsored guests are featured on whatever new anime or manga a distribution company is trying to promote, rather than people that most convention attendees want to meet.

Matsumoto signed alongside Kawamoto. She refused to draw anything and would only sign her name. This shikishi was something I picked up at the charity auction and was what I considered to be my pity purchase of the con. The charity auction didn't have too many shikishi this year for sale and they very short of surpassing their 40K goal. They barely made in over the 20K hurdle that year.
