Shikishi sketch featuring Pen Pen from Neon Genesis Evangelion, drawn and signed by Evangelion Animation director and GAINAX founder, Hiroyuki Yamaga ( 山賀 博之 ). I had heard that Yamaga could draw, but like unicorns, no one I knew of had ever seen him do so, let alone owned a sketch. Back in 2010, when I was new to the idea of going after and collecting original sketches, I headed to my local large convention, FanimeCon, to try my luck. As Yamaga was such a frequent guest and most realized that he would not do anything but sign his name, his autograph session consisted of less than 20 people. With the limited number of attendees on hand, Yamaga changed his mind and drew. A couple of us asked for human. Eva characters but he said that those were too difficult to draw. As it was,Yamaga needed a picture just to draw Boota and PenPen.
