In order to distract the grandmother's crying grandson, Kobato tries to make silly faces...however, this only makes things worse. Kobato quickly apologizes, and the old woman explains that usually the child will only go to sleep if its mother sings to him, but since she's working tonight, the child won't sleep. Kobato decides to sing a song to the child.

For someone who landed on Earth earlier that day with (supposedly) no memories of her past, Kobato's song is kind of surprising. She hasn't heard any music yet. So where did she learn this song? And why is it such a haunting melody?
