Like many heroines from magical girl animes, Sakura has suffered the loss of one of her parents. Sakura's mother died before the story took place, while Sakura was an infant. She has no memories of her mother other than the variety of photos that her father places on the dining room table. Sakura believes that her father and brother are the only relatives she has, and because of that, she fiercely bonds with them. When the Illusion card chooses to take the form of Sakura's deceased mother, Sakura is more than willing to follow the card in the hope of being with mother.
