Ami Mizuno transforms into the Soldier of Intelligence, Sailor Mercury.

While not my favorite senshi, the amount of transformation water ribbons is graceful, but not too overpowering as it is later on in the transformation. What I think is a particularly interesting features is that, when you look up close in this cel, Mercury is holding a shadow version of her 1st season pen henshin rod. It makes me wonder if the first segment of this transformation was just recycled when the Sailor senshi received their upgrade in the second season.

This particular cel was featured on card #53 in the second Sailormoon Graffiti set. Henshin sequences are not commonly featured on cards, so I feel lucky to have one that was used.

This scene was used through the Sailormoon R to SuperS seasons, as well as in two OVAs.
